ABOUT ME

Name:
Goupil is the pseudonym I'll use here ;)
Age:
I was born in 1999, so still technically a 20th century man.
Nationality:
I am French, on Central European Time (CET).
Occupation:
I am a translator and a subtitlist. I speak French and English. I hope to learn Spanish and Japanese professionally one day!
Hobbies:
Videogames, TTRPGs like DnD and Fate, writing, reading, drawing occasionally, overall just analyzing media for fun.

What I like

Games:
basically all of Pokémon (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Skies is my favorite!), Classic JRPGs like Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, the Dragon Quest series, Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi, but also a lot of goofy games like Warioware, Rhythm Paradise, Professor Layton, and let's not forget the Zelda series... I'm a Nintendo gamer.
TV Shows:
I enjoy a lot of animation! My favorite from my teenage years was Steven Universe. I'm also fond of Miraculous Ladybug, no matter how awful it gets. In terms of anime, I really enjoyed Hunter x Hunter and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, as well as the PreCure series. As for live action, I really loved The Good Place, Iris and Up Here. I'm also a huge fan of TTRPG actual play shows like Dimension 20 and Critical Role.
Movies:
My favorite movie is Mamma Mia! My second favorite movie? Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Then there's everything else. Notable mentions: the Knives Out series, The Young Girls of Rochefort, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Boy and the Beast, Your Name or Arietty for animation. Of course I like everything from Studio Ghibli, but saying that feels like cheating.
Music:
My favorite artists are Carly Rae Jepsen and Daft Punk, but I enjoy just about anything: Pop, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Funk, House, Bossa Nova, Metal sometimes... There's just too much good music to not listen to most!
Books:
I devoured the Animorphs series during college and I loved it. In terms of manga, my favorites right now are Dungeon Meshi and Witch Hat Atelier, but I remember really loving reading Death Note back in the day. In terms of literature, I missed out on a lot of the classics, so I'm trying to make myself become a reader again, so at the moment I'd say I really vibe with Agatha Christie's writing style.
Misc. Media:
As you might've gathered, I love musicals! My favorites are Beetlejuice, Wicked and Next to Normal, but I've recently been introduced to Sondheim's work and I'm obsessed with Into the Woods. In other medias, I love the DnD podcast The Adventure Zone (Balance and Amnesty campaigns specifically!), and once upon a time I liked the early seasons of The Magnus Archives.
