Hey, everyone! Welcome to my website. This is a personal space to host and post some of my original writing, do some blogging, share reviews of things I like... Feel free to browse around.
If you enjoyed what you've seen here, thanks! I really appreciate it. You can tell me about it here even, if you're crazy like that.
Hey! Happy New Year!! I hope all of you have a wonderful year, filled with good health, good fortune and personal and professional success. That'd be nice, wouldn't it? Well this editorial is here to try to put words, actions and tangible goals on those nice thoughts. Let's get into it!
First, the goals of the website itself. I would like to spruce up the place enough to share this website to my friends and loved ones, so they may look around and touch everything if they so choose (If you're reading this, that means you! Go ahead and jam your fingers whereever. It should be safe.) In my quest to abscond from social media, I want to make this the place where people online can keep up with what's going on with me and my creative endeavors. I'd be ever so grateful if you were to join me here! I'm thinking of setting up a discord server to be used exclusively as a notification board for when new stuff is published here. If you're interested in joining, by all means, ask me on tumblr!
This year, I'm attempting to use this website as a way to jumpstart my creative project and take them out of my mind so they can finally exist in the real world and haunt everybody else instead of just me. You may expect (as much as I will) writeups about current original characters, blog posts about ideas for the TTRPG campaign I'm begining to plan for some friends, and hopefully some honest-to-god original writing, in its rawest most embarassing form, right here on the web. We simply must make ourselves do things here at Goupil Studios, so that's what's on the menu.
To close things off, because this is a blog about art and media, here's a little update on what's I'm into these days. I've started reading The Lord of the Rings for the first time, about three weeks ago. It's really fun so far, I enjoy Tolkien's writing style quite a lot. No wonder that guy's famous.
I tried to start a challenge where I'd watch 50 movies in the year to burn through some of my watchlist, and made the smart decision to make that first movie a ballet. So I watched The Nutcracker, except it was THE WRONG ONE. Apparently John Neumeier made up an entirely new story and kept the name. The Nutcracker is barely even in the damn thing! All this to say my challenge's starting on the wrong foot. I'll defeat you, movie watchlist, just you wait.
Alright, that's it for now, bye-bye, and I'll see you in the next one!
